Already 50 years since CPC construction began!

1974 marked the year when excavation began at the expanded CPC campus in Ottawa. It was the beginning of what would make this quintessential establishment the training facility it is today.

The Canadian Police College opened its doors just two years later, in 1976, with the designated function to provide specialized training at a national and international level. Our current mission continues to reflect these roots: Enhancing the safety and security of Canadians through the delivery of specialized police education and training, thereby enabling all trusted partners throughout their career journey to meet the evolving needs of communities.

This year we celebrate 50 years since ground broke on the expanded CPC campus in Ottawa. We encourage you to reflect on the significance of this accomplishment through the lens of our vision to be the national hub, leading modern and innovative specialized police education and training while enabling all trusted partners in the pursuit of service excellence.

Together we can accomplish great things through living our core values of integrity; respect and inclusion; community and collaboration; and innovation. And, in terms of bricks and mortar, it all started over 50 years ago when excavation began at the expanded CPC campus in Ottawa!
