Learning Truth and Leading Reconciliation in Policing course

The Canadian Police College’s Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Centre is excited to announce a brand-new course: Learning Truth and Leading Reconciliation in Policing.

The process of truth and reconciliation is about creating space for healing, both for Indigenous Communities and police agencies, and fostering a future where relationships are built in mutual respect, understanding and justice.

This immersive 3-day course is designed to guide participants through Canada’s shared history with a focus on the Indigenous experience. It delves into the historical and current implications of the Indian Act, the Treaties, and the relationship between the police and Indigenous communities.

This program is open to employees of law enforcement agencies of all ranks.

The course will take place in-person at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa and run from May 27 to 29, 2025.
