The Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Centre has established a reputation for effectively preparing today's police leaders to work in an increasingly dynamic, complex and global law enforcement environment.

Advanced Executive Leadership in Law Enforcement Microprogram (AELLE)
The Canadian Police College (CPC) is pleased to offer Advanced Executive Leadership in Law Enforcement micro program in partnership with the University of Ottawa's Professional Development Institute (PDI).
Through each of six three-day courses, participants will be exposed to real world scenarios and cover topics that are germane to successful policing in today's world. While each course will have a different lead instructor, the content is designed to be cumulative thereby helping to enable participants to not simply envision a desired future but to have the tools, connections and resources to work collaboratively towards creating this vision by the time they complete course six, which will include a written assignment.

Conflict-Competent Leadership for Community Policing Program (CCLCP)
The Canadian Police College (CPC), in partnership with the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution (CICR), is pleased to announce the continuation of the Conflict-Competent Leadership for Community Policing Program. Throughout this highly experiential program you will learn and practice comprehensive skills to address complex conflicts, both inter-personal and group. The result will be an alignment of values (personal, interpersonal, organizational, and community) so that you can reduce barriers, foster trust, increase connectedness, empower others, build solidarity, resolve issues, and contribute directly to social cohesion. -
Data-Enhanced Decision-Making for Effective Policing: Transforming Policing through Analytics (DEDM)
This intensive three-day course is designed to provide police officers and leaders with a thorough understanding of evidence-based policing principles and practices. Participants will learn how to integrate scientific research and data analysis into their decision-making processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement operations. The course covers the fundamentals of evidence-based policing, strategies for implementing research findings, and methods for evaluating and improving policing practices. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and practical exercises, participants will gain the skills necessary to apply evidence-based approaches in their daily work. -
Executive Development in Policing (EDP)
The Executive Development in Policing program (EDP) is for high potential police and civilian senior managers and executives working in law enforcement. It is designed to enhance and evolve participants' leadership competencies, with a focus on strategic and emotional and social dimensions and an overarching goal of strengthening their leadership character. Participants will work through a series of four consecutive courses designed to progressively challenge them to be leaders who inspire, are visionary and are change agents. -
Inclusive Leadership for Police Leaders: Real Issues. Real Talk. Real Impact (ILPL)
This comprehensive five-day course is designed to equip police leaders with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to foster inclusivity within their organizations. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will explore the principles of inclusive leadership, develop cultural competence, learn to identify and address unconscious bias, create inclusive policies and procedures, and promote diversity and equity in recruitment and retention. The course aims to create real impact by addressing real issues in Canadian policing through real talk and practical application. This course can be cross-referenced with the Indigenous Policing program. -
Strategic Policing through Action and Character course (SPAC)
This course is for individuals working in law enforcement who have had some supervisory experience and who are ready to accept the leadership challenges of more senior or complex managerial roles. Participants learn how to improve and adapt their personal management and leadership skills to meet changing social conditions. Topics covered include leadership and management concepts, leading high performance teams, issue analysis and problem solving, business case development, research, ethics, conflict resolution, and communication.
